Ben Libman is a novelist, essayist, and poet. His writing has appeared or will soon appear in The New York Review of Books, The Guardian, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and Politics/Letters, among others. He holds a BA in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University and an MA in English from Stanford University. In 2017 he was the recipient of the Bunner Prize for Best Essay on American literature. Ben is currently a PhD Candidate at Stanford University, where he has taught creative writing courses in narrative theory and courses in American and English fiction. He is the coordinator of The Contemporary, an intersdisciplinary working group at the university devoted to examining the category of the “contemporary” in politics, culture, and the arts. Ben is at work on a novel, a collection of essays, and a poetry chapbook.
