BEN LIBMAN

Ben Libman’s writing has appeared or will soon appear in The New York Review of Books, The Guardian, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Firmament Magazine, The London Magazine, and Politics/Letters, among others. He holds a BA in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University and an MA in English from Stanford University. In 2017 he was the recipient of the Bunner Prize for Best Essay on American literature. Ben is currently a PhD Candidate at Stanford University, where he has taught creative writing courses in narrative theory and courses in American and English fiction. He is the coordinator of The Contemporary, an intersdisciplinary working group at the university devoted to examining the category of the “contemporary” in politics, culture, and the arts. Ben’s first book, a work of literary nonfiction titled The Third Solitude, was recently acquired by Dundurn Press and is scheduled for publication in 2025. He is also at work on a novel. Ben currently splits his time between Montreal and Paris.
