McKenzie Wark is an Australian-born New Yorker who is the author of a dozen books, translated into a dozen languages. Highlights include A Hacker Manifesto (Harvard, 2004), Gamer Theory (Harvard, 2007), The Beach Beneath the Street (Verso 2011), and Capital is Dead (Verso, 2009). Her trans autofiction book Reverse Cowgirl was published by Semiotexte (2020). She won the Thoma Prize for digital media writing in 2019. She teaches at The New School for Social Research in New York City where she is currently co-chair of the Gender and Sexuality Studies Institute.
