Andre Bagoo is a Trinidadian poet, fiction writer, and essayist. He is the author of four books of poems, the essay collection on literature and art, The Undiscovered Country (Peepal Tree Press, 2020), which won the 2021 OCM Bocas Prize for Non-Fiction, and short story collection titled The Dreaming (Peepal Tree Press, 2022). His work has appeared in The White Review, Boston Review, Cincinnati Review, Electric Literature, Magma, POETRY, and The Poetry Review, among others. He was awarded The Charlotte & Isidor Paiewonsky Prize in 2017 and shortlisted for the Ernest Hemingway Foundation’s annual fiction prize in 2020. His short story “Hunger” was shortlisted for the 2021 Commonwealth Short Story Prize.
